Based on §4 BDSG we monitor our business premises with video cameras. A pictogram on the door indicates the fact that surveillance is in progress.

What is the legal basis for this?
The legal basis for the processing of personal data is generally - unless there are specific legal provisions - Art. 6 GDPR The following possibilities are particularly relevant here:

How long is the data stored?
We store the recorded data for 72 hours.
To which recipients will the data be passed on?
No data will be passed on to third parties. In individual cases, depending on the purpose, the recorded data may be passed on to law enforcement authorities.
Your rights as a data subject
You have the right to be informed about the personal data we process about you.
In the case of a request for information that is not made in writing, we ask for your understanding that we may then require you to provide evidence that proves that you are the person you claim to be.
Furthermore, you have the right to correct or delete your personal data or to restrict its processing, insofar as you are legally entitled to do so.
Furthermore, you have the right to object to the processing within the scope of the legal requirements.We will stop processing data concerning you, unless we can provide compelling reasons for processing the assertion, exercise or defense of rights worthy of protection. The same applies to a right to data transferability.
In particular, you have a right of objection in accordance with Art. 21 Paras. 1 and 2 GDPR against the processing of your data in connection with a direct advertising campaign, if this is based on a weighing of interests.
