NX CAM Day 2018

Digital manufacturing – a central topic for all manufacturing companies and the focus of the NX CAM Day 2018. Lectures, exhibitions and discussions about digital production inspired the participants.

On June 5, 2018, customers, interested parties and partners gathered in the congress hall in Böblingen to find out about the latest developments and trends in digital production. With around 300 people, the congress hall was quite full. The NX CAM Day started with a joint programme in the morning. After a welcome speech by our Board Members Werner Karp and Bernhard Maurer, Armin Grünewald (Siemens) discussed the topic of digital manufacturing from Siemens' perspective, thus laying the groundwork for further contributions. At the end, Werner Karp dealt more closely with the topic of automation. With his presentation "Automation through standardisation", he made it clear that automated NC programming makes an essential contribution towards the digitisation of production and is indispensable for the future competitiveness of a company. The morning was rounded off with a talk by Thomas Schäfer (Prätecma) and Patrick Miekautsch (JANUS Engineering). Thomas Schäfer spoke directly from the field for the field, and described the way his company is moving towards digital production with JANUS and inspired the participants with the insights provided.

During the afternoon the topic was then dealt with in more detail. Representatives from Siemens, Celeritive, Renishaw and A+B Solutions spoke together with JANUS experts on the main topics of optimisation, integration, automation and production. With this diverse range of talks and presentations, which ran in parallel in four halls, the participants had the opportunity to put together their own individual afternoon programme.

In addition to the talks and presentations, visitors were able to find out more about digital production at the stands of our partner companies or take advantage of the "Meet the Expert" offer and discuss current topics and ask questions during a personal meeting with JANUS experts.

The day ended with a keynote speech by Marco Di Filippo, who reflected on the topic of digitisation from the data security side and sensitised visitors towards the topic of cyber security through practical examples combined with plenty of wit and charm.

At the end of the event, the guests had the opportunity to talk again and exchange ideas and information.
