The voestalpine Foundry Group is a world leader in the manufacture of high-quality castings of up to 200 tons in unit weight. The non-ferrous-metal foundry is an innovative manufacturer of cam slides and maintenance-free sliding components for the automotive industry.

Mr Riess, Head of Production at voestalpine in Linz, explains:

High quality standards are the basis for success. The latest computer-aided manufacturing system (NX with integrated Renishaw Productivity+ measurement and control software) is used for the programming of machining centres. The measurements of each component are monitored during manufacture and deviations are compensated for. The control process in the NC code results in high-precision components with an exceptionally low reject rate. The company is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2008, EMS ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007.

With the offer of mechanical machining as a service, other companies now also benefit from this. Another advantage is our reliable team. The well-coordinated cooperation between specialists in programming, tool presetting and machining guarantees our customers high efficiency and optimum production flow. With our CAM/CAD & Productivity+ system, we can read and process STEP, IGES, PRT, CATIAV5 and PRO/E data.

The ultra-modern, air-conditioned production workshop with the latest CNC machinery was set up during the course of developing a new product, for which the highest dimensional accuracy and tightest tolerances have to be met.
